Artist Statement

My paintings are about light and color. I strive to depict emotions and beauty through these two elements and perhaps to encourage the viewer to contemplate their response to the light and color I present. The Earth Light Tapestries series is a pure non-representational explorations of color and light and texture. The constants in this series were the size of the works, the acrylic media and a palette dominated by earth colors. The variables were the textures and application of paints. Various acrylic gels and sand were added to the paints to achieve the textures.
