City councilor Margaret Crang

City councilor Margaret Crang, pictured here in 1935, was elected on the Canadian Labour Party ticket. Council's chief defender of the unemployed and their organizations, Crang was expelled from the CCF in 1936 for running (unsuccessfully) in a provincial by-election in Edmonton in 1936 as a Unity candidate with both Communist and Social Credit support.
