Feeding The Chickens, 1934

This is a photograph of Pauline at the age of six feeding the chickens at the old chicken coop. She was a typical little farm girl who loved birds and animals - with the exception of the old gander. He was a mean bird and there were times when he would chase her. She also enjoyed riding on the "Stone boat" no matter how cold it was. The Stone boat was a strong platform on heavy log runners which was pulled by two horses. It was used for hauling stones when clearing land and for other uses as well. The year was 1934.
