An Edmonton memoir: Kathryne Faye Bielby

I have lived (stayed) in Edmonton for 47 years. My husband came here seven months ahead of me and worked thirty-five years at Dominion Bridge. After he passed away in 1985. I wondered about his inurnment [unintelligible] here or in St. Catharines, Ontario where my parents are buried. But as two of our three children were here plus six grandchildren, there was never any real thought of going back east. As McLahan has said "you can't go home again".

I have become very active in church, community, teaching activities and have many good friends and relatives here that I would not want to leave. Also, it is much easier to leave a town of 8,000 (Port Colborne, Ontario) than to go back. It's pretty well memories there now!
